Becoming a chartered accountant requires obtaining the national diploma of chartered accountant DNEC (established by decree No. 2.89.519 of July 16, 1990).
The chartered accountant diploma issued by the French state has an equivalence with the Moroccan national chartered accountant diploma, and thus gives access to the Moroccan profession.
The course for obtaining the national chartered accountancy diploma (DNEC) begins with a competition for access to the chartered accountancy cycle organized by ISCAE (Higher Institute of Commerce and Business Administration).
This competition is organized once a year. Those admitted to the cycle (known as trainee chartered accountants) follow a training and internship course of 6 semesters.
In addition to the training, the trainee accountant must prepare 6 half-yearly reports under the supervision of a trainee controller.
After successfully passing the exams for the 3 years of the chartered accountancy cycle, trainee chartered accountants must prepare a chartered accountant dissertation.
Once the chartered accountant diploma is in hand, the chartered accountant diplomas must apply for registration with the regional council of the order of chartered accountants of their regions.
